Viking Rune socks are worked toe-up in the round, with a wrap and turn short row heel and an all over cable pattern.
The pattern is written for three sizes:
Foot length:
S - 22cm/8.66” to fit shoe sizes EU 35 - 37.
M - 25cm/9.8” to fit shoe sizes EU 38 - 40.
L - 27cm/10.6” to fit shoe sizes EU 41 - 43.
This sizing is based on the standard foot-sizing chart. As the socks are knit toe-up, I suggest trying them on as you knit, to decide when to start the heel--if you wish to have a more accurate fit. Keep in mind that socks should be made with some negative ease so they stretch to size when worn.
The pattern is written in detail for each size and included both charted and written instructions for the cables, round by round.
These socks can be made in different lengths and the pattern instructs how to make them longer if desired.
Viking runes feature a large braided cable in the front and smaller cables in the back leg after heel. Although they might look very complex the pattern itself is relatively easy to work.
